Abstract:   (12 Views)
Painting in the Ilkhanid period has various techniques of illustration, including animating. One of its sub-branches is the application of animal characteristics to anything other than that animal, which is called zoomorphism, which is considered in the field of anthropology. Zoomorphism means the application of animal characteristics to anything other than that animal itself, and it may even be from one animal to another, which is dominated by the idea or thought of man. In a sense, this component is the product of human thought, which takes the characteristics and features or even sometimes an image of an animal and transfers it to another figure. In this article, this component will be examined in two positions: the human figure and the object (inanimate object), which will be discussed in several paintings of the Ilkhanid period, which changes the meaning and function of this component due to the different rank and position of the human and the object (inanimate object). The research problem is to discover the existence and reasons for the use of the zoomorphism component and its nature in the Ilkhanid period paintings. The aim of the research is to reach the semantic layers and discover the relationship between the literary text of the painting and this component, and to prove this component. The research method is descriptive-analytical and is based on library studies, documents, and reputable domestic and foreign scientific sites. The results indicate that the literary texts in the paintings have been an effective guide for the illustrator's creativity, and also the hypothesis of the illustrator's knowledge and mastery of sciences such as anthropology is raised because it shows the illustrator's ability to display the zoomorphism component in an appropriate position in the painting structure that they have used and to convey the semantic content of the text well, and the difference between the two levels of human and object meaning of the component has changed.
